Unitaid is seeking experts to replenish its Proposal Review Committee (PRC) for the period June 2025 – June 2028.
The PRC is Unitaid’s independent, impartial team of experts providing scientific, public health, health systems, programmatic, country implementation, country co-creation for sustainable financing, market dynamics and health economics expertise to Unitaid in an advisory capacity. Working closely with Unitaid’s Secretariat in the Joint Review Committee, the PRC reviews proposals submitted for funding and drafts grant agreement documents according to established criteria. Unitaid’s PRC is led by Dr. Andy Gray, Chair and Dr. Betina Durovni, Vice-Chair.
Unitaid is a global health organization that saves lives by making new health products available and affordable for people in low- and middle-income countries. Unitaid works with partners to identify innovative treatments, tests and tools, help tackle the market barriers that are holding them back and get them to the people who need them most – fast. Since Unitaid was created in 2006, the organization has unlocked access to more than 100 groundbreaking health products.
Unitaid’s 2023-2027 Strategy has six programmatic priorities: HIV and coinfections, tuberculosis, malaria, women’s and children’s health, global health emergencies and cross-cutting priorities. To tackle today’s greatest health threats and stay ahead of emerging challenges, in 2024, the Strategy identified additional foundational issues that must be addressed: climate change, as Unitaid works with partners to help communities adapt by introducing health products that are less carbon-intensive and more resilient.; and regional manufacturing of health products, to reduce countries’ vulnerabilities to price volatility, supply chain disruptions, and shortages of essential health products.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Interested experts should send their CV and letter of motivation to proposalsunitaid@who.int by Thursday, 6 March 2025 at 18:00 (CET). Applications received past the indicated deadline will not be considered.
Please note that an application is considered submitted only once you receive a confirmation e-mail from Unitaid.
The letter of motivation should clearly indicate which area(s) of expertise outlined in the PRC Terms of Reference the candidate could cover. PRC members are senior experts, therefore any claim of area of expertise must be supported with evidence of at least 10 years of expertise and/or references from organizations where this expertise has previously been provided.
The work of the PRC is guided by strict conflict of interest rules, therefore Unitaid cannot engage experts that have current long-term employment as staff members (both full- and part-time) or a long-term consultancy (both full- and part-time) with an active Unitaid grantee.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application following the assessment and endorsement by Unitaid’s Board at the June 2025 meeting.
